Juni and Evy

Juni and Evy is a high-energy fairy-tale inspired story filled with chaos. It is my graduation film, produced in my third year at UCA Farnham.

Two people living in parallel worlds meet by accident and instantly decide to be together. As their interactions slowly break both worlds, a pair of birds tries to stop them from getting together at all costs. However, this proves to be a much harder task than anticipated, with the couple’s determination only increasing the longer this game of cat and mouse goes on.

This chaotic chase is the main charm of the film, along with the camera movements, taking what is seemingly a flat, 2D frame into three-dimensional space. The film is very light-hearted and features quirky humour and characters.

The film was animated in Blender, with 3D backgrounds and 2D characters (using Blender’s Grease Pencil). It features music by Paul Mottram.
